Terms and Conditions - Southwark Skip Hire

Welcome to Southwark Skip Hire. By hiring a skip from us, you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a clear understanding of your rights and obligations.

1. Booking and Payment

Booking Process: To book a skip, you must provide accurate information regarding the size, location, and duration of the hire. All bookings are subject to availability.

Payment Terms: Payment is required at the time of booking. We accept various payment methods including credit/debit cards and bank transfers. Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of your booking.

1.1 Deposit and Fees

Deposit: A refundable deposit may be required based on the size of the skip and the duration of the hire.
Late Payment Fees: Delays in payment may incur additional fees.

2. Hire Period

The hire period commences on the date of delivery and ends on the agreed pickup date. Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to availability and additional charges.

2.1 Early Pickup

If you wish to return the skip before the end of the hire period, please inform us at least 48 hours in advance. Early return may reduce the total cost, but does not guarantee availability on short notice.

3. Cancellations and Changes

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time to avoid cancellation fees. Changes to the booking can be made subject to availability and may incur additional costs.

3.1 Cancellation Fees

If canceled within 24 hours of delivery, a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total hire cost may apply.
No fee applies for cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance.

4. Permitted and Prohibited Items

Permitted Items: General household waste, garden waste, construction debris, and other non-hazardous materials are allowed.

Prohibited Items: Hazardous materials such as asbestos, chemicals, batteries, tires, and any illegal substances are strictly prohibited and must not be placed in the skip.

4.1 Waste Disposal

All waste must be properly segregated and placed in the skip.
It is your responsibility to ensure that only permitted items are disposed of.

5. Delivery and Collection

Our team will deliver the skip to the specified location at the agreed time. Ensure that there is sufficient space and access for delivery and collection. Any additional delivery requirements may result in extra charges.

5.1 Delivery Conditions

Ensure that the delivery area is clear of obstacles and that the ground is level to prevent damage to the skip or surrounding property.

6. Safety Instructions

For your safety and the safety of our staff, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Do not overload the skip beyond the specified capacity.
Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects that could cause injury during handling.
Ensure that children and pets are kept away from the skip area.

6.1 Risk of Injury

Improper use of the skip may lead to personal injury or property damage. Please handle with care.

7. Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Ensuring that the skip is used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Maintaining the skip in a clean and orderly manner.
Notifying us immediately of any damage or issues with the skip.

7.1 Damage to Property

Any damage caused to your property or our skip due to improper use is your responsibility, and you may be liable for repair or replacement costs.

8. Liability

Limitation of Liability: Southwark Skip Hire is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our maximum liability is limited to the total hire cost.

8.1 Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures in delivery or collection due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, or other unforeseen circumstances.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. It is your responsibility to review the Terms and Conditions regularly.

9.1 Acceptance of Changes

Continued use of our services after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
